Legacy Staff

Bobby Gordon, Founding & Lead Pastor:  Bobby is from Hartselle, Alabama where his father was pastor of West Hartselle Baptist Church for nearly twenty years before he retired.  He and his wife Angie (from Collinsville, AL) have been married for 22 years and have four children: Rachel (18), Robert (15), Riley (10) and Danni (7).  Bobby majored in Religion and graduated in 1989 from Samford University in Birmingham.  He and Angie both graduated in Dec., 1992 with master's degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
 
During college and seminary, Bobby served as an Associate Pastor / Student Minister (Raleigh Ave. Baptist Church, Birmingham and FBC Benbrook, Texas).  He spent two summers as a missionary in Iowa and in South Korea.  Following seminary, he became Sr. Pastor of Memorial Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama in January of 1993.  In August of 1995 he resigned to become one of the founding pastors of RocketCity Community Church (now CrossPointe Church) in Madison.  In August of 1998 he resigned to become one of the founding pastors of The Church at Hampton Cove (now Rivertree Church) in S.E. Huntsville.  In January of 2007 he resigned to become founding pastor of Legacy.
