Member's Commitment to Legacy
Having discovered a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ and followed Him in believer’s baptism by immersion, I now believe I am being led by the Holy Spirit to embrace Legacy Baptist Church as my local church family. In doing so I commit myself to God and the other members of Legacy to do the following:
Biblical Authority
…to learn from the Bible in order to make godly decisions and live in obedience to Christ.
…to follow the leadership of Legacy so their work will be a joy, not a burden. (Heb. 13:17)
Intimacy with God
…to seek to know God better and love Him more; developing an abiding fellowship. (John 15:5)
Strengthening Families
…to help families grow in Christ and pass on a legacy of faith, hope and love. (Eph. 5:31-6:4)
Authentic & Loving Relationships
…to build close Christ-centered friendships with others. (Acts 2:42-46)
…to refuse to gossip and handle conflict according to the biblical model. (Matt. 18:15-17)
Inviting Others to Follow Jesus
…to invest in people who need Christ and invite them to follow Him. (2 Cor. 5:20-21)
Serving Joyfully
…to discover, develop and use gifts and abilities to joyfully serve others. (Matt. 10:45)
…to care for the poor and needy; widows and orphans. (James 1:27)
Equipping Every Believer to Mature in Christ
…to grow spiritually to become more like Christ in character and priorities. (Eph. 4:12-13)
…to financially support the mission of Legacy. (Malachi 3:10 & 1 Cor. 16:2)
Multiply
…to help multiply disciples, small groups and churches. (Matt. 28:18-20 & 2 Tim. 2:2)
